Popular Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson has revealed a secrete between her and popular Ghanaian ace rapper Sakordie hidden from from the public’s eye.
In her newly launched book, “I AM NOT YVONNE NELSON” the actress recounted that in a not-so-serious relationship with the rapper, she became pregnant for him.
According to her, given that Sakordie at the time was still a work in progress and that his future was not certain, the rapper did not want to have a child.
In chapter 8 of the book, Yvonne narrated instances where she contemplated terminating the pregnancy with concoctions.
What also made the rapper not want the pregnancy was because he was having another girlfriend and was still living under his mother’s roof.
“I had gone for a pregnancy test to confirm what becomes the obvious conclusion for a sexually active young woman who missed her monthly flow. I was in the company of Karen. And when the test result was ready, I wasn’t strong enough to open it. She did and declared the verdict.”
“On an ordinary day, I would have laughed out loud and that would trigger a string of jolly conversations and jokes. But this was no laughing matter. It was a grim piece of information that was capable of turning my world upside down. I wasn’t the only one responsible for the situation, so I called the man whose potent seed had germinated in me. His name is Michael Owusu Addo, a renowned Ghanaian musician who is better known as Sarkodie.”
“I wouldn’t call what had developed between us a serious relationship. I gravitated toward people in the music industry. For the longest time in my life, music was my getaway from all the unpleasant things life threw at me. So, I liked his talent. We started talking and got close. Closer,” she disclosed in the book.
She noted that what made the situation more painful was the fact that Sakordie abandoned her during the abortion period, saying he did not call to check up how the procedure went or even how she was doing.
According to her, her entanglement with the rapper at the time where her acting career erupted disrupted various opportunities she could have gotten hold of.
The book disclosed that she was 25 years by then.
Yvonne says having to abort a child has been one of the most “regrettable mistakes” in her life, saying she has been haunted by the act ever since.
