Veteran actress Rose Akua Atta Mensah, well known by her stage as Kyeiwaa, has given a warning to the less educated citizens of Ghanaians who wish to travel abroad: to study English very well.
It’s worth noting that Kyeiwaa returned to Ghana only recently after living in the United States for a number of years.
She says that while she did have a good time during her time overseas, she did have some difficulties due to the fact that she was unable to speak or write English.
She explained that while she was used to communicating with others because of her acting career, the situation was different in the United States.
In addition, Kyeiwaa said that she would use herself as an example to tell anyone who wants to travel but doesn’t speak English to reconsider, because they won’t be able to communicate with the people out there who aren’t from Ghana.
She also expressed frustration at her inability to find work despite her qualifications.
Kyeiwaa finished by stressing the need for a good education in securing gainful employment in the USA.
