The Member of Parliament for North Tongu and leader of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa says the ORAL team has gotten to the aid of some government workers occupying four government bungalows following their report on an imminent demolition plan by a private developer.
The bungalows located beind the State House were reportedly sold to a private developer and was due for demolition despite government workers occupying the place.
In a X (formerly Twitter) post, Mr. Ablakwa shared that the said private developer had sent “thugs” to demolish the building, claiming the land had already been paid for since last year.
“Team ORAL has this morning promptly acted on a distress petition from government workers occupying 4 bungalows behind the State House which were about to be demolished by a faceless private developer who sent thugs claiming they paid for the land last year.”
According to him, President Mahama’s National Security Committee has been directed to protect the place. Occupants of the said bungalows have also been instructed not to move out as demanded by the said thugs.
“We have asked the government workers who are staff of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Gender, Children and Social Protection not to move out of their bungalows as demanded by the thugs President Mahama says no government bungalow is for sale,” he wrote.
Furthermore, the unidentified private developer is therefore encouraged to proceed for a refund from “whoever they purportedly bought the state lands from.”
