According to a communique by the Presidency Communications, signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Spokesperson to the President, President John Dramani Mahama has made key appointments regarding the country’s national security.
This is one of the many appointments that have been made by the President a week after his swearing-in.
The Former Chief of Staff Prosper Douglas Bani, also the former Minister of Interior, has been appointed as the National Security Advisor to the President. DCOP Abdul-Osman Razak has been appointed as the National Security Coordinator. COP Nathan Kofi Boakye (Rtd.) also appointed as Director of Operations. Finally, Mr. Charles Kipo has been named the Director General of the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).
These appointments are in response to the President’s assurance during his peace tour at Bawku, on the need for peace and security in the area, that they were yet to appoint people for the various security positions in government. During his tour, he said, “We will make sure that after these appointments are made, the security agency makes peace keeping in Bawku number one of their priorities.”
