President John Dramani Mahama has ordered that all land allocations and sale of land belonging to the ministry done by the previous government be reversed
This was made know through a Facebook post made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
In his statement, the reversal affects the ministry’s adjoining land with Airport Residential which some 7 organisations and individuals claim to be new owners. He shared this post on Facebook on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
“President Mahama has directed that all allocations and sale of lands belonging to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the previous government, be immediately reversed. Yesterday’s presidential directive will ensure that the Ministry’s adjoining land at Airport Residential, which some 7 organisations and individuals claim to be new owners, would now be cancelled and preserved for the people of Ghana.”
Expressing his gratitude to President Mahama for this directive, Mr. Ablakwa mentioned, ” I am enormously grateful to President Mahama for his unwavering patriotic and decisive presidential backing.” According to him, this directive is a step toward the preservation and protection of state property.
The Minister also assured Ghanaians of his unwavering position to protect resources belonging to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, especially during his tenure as the Minister of Finance.
He stated emphatically, “Under my watch as Foreign Minister, no land or property of the Ministry, located either home or abroad would be sold. No more State Capture! For God and Country. Ghana First.”
