The Chairman of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has revealed that the committee received a total of 2,417 complaints from concerned citizens.
According to him, 1,493 cases were reported through mobile phone calls, whereas 924 of the complaints were sent through emails.
Mr. Ablakwa, handed over the report of the committee to the President and the Attorney General on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the Jubilee House, while emphasizing that the committee is committed to making sure that corrupt officials are held accountable for their actions and ensuring that the looted state resources by such officials, are reclaimed.
The Chairman also encouraged whistleblowers and the general public to continue submitting their complaints to the appropriate state agencies, to ensure that there is transparency and justice in governance.
Moreover, he also mentioned that even after the ORAL committee has completed its tasks, the general public can still make such complaints to the right state agencies.
Mr. Ablakwa disclosed that the committee’s work has yielded significant outcomes, which include protecting the lands belonging to the Northern Development Authority in partnership with the National Security, and preventing the demolition of 50 government-owned bungalows and ensuring public property is safeguarded.
The committee has also reviewed 36 high-profile corruption cases which if successfully prosecuted, could lead to a recovery of $20.49 billion stolen funds.
The Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) is a committee that has been set-up by President John Dramani Mahama, in a bid to recover stolen funds by corrupt governmental officials. The committee started its work when the president was sworn in.
