Okyeame Kwame has said that he is not a Christian. In a recent interview with Kwame Dadzie of Joy Entertainment, the rapper who has been making music for more than 20 years said that he doesn’t follow any one faith.
He said that he is currently an omnist, which means that he gets his faith and ideas from all religions.
“I was born in the Methodist Church as a Christian, and I grew up as a Christian until I was about 14 years old.
“Most of what I believe in is Christian. My dad went to a Catholic church. My mom went to the Methodist Church, so I did school and all that stuff when I was a kid. Since I went to an Anglican school, most of the people I’ve known are very Christian. But I don’t think I can call myself a Christian in the full sense now that I’m an adult. “I go by the name omnist,” he said.
He said that he is an African when it comes to respecting nature, trees, and rivers. He is a Buddhist when it comes to the Bible’s teaching of “loving your neighbor as yourself,” and he is a Christian when it comes to that teaching. However, he is also a Muslim because of his extreme respect for God and his claim to all power.
He went on to say that he didn’t want to stick to just one religion and miss out on the good things that other religions had to offer.
Wikipedia says that omnism is respect for or believe in all religions, whether they have gods or not.
People who believe this are called omnists, which can also be written as omniest. In recent years, the term has come back into use because of the interest of self-described omnists who have rediscovered it and started to rethink what it means. Omnism is like syncretism, which is the idea that different religions can work well together.
But it can also be seen as a way to acknowledge that different faiths exist without believing everything they say they teach. Many omnists say that all religions have truths, but that no one faith has all the truths. Sri Ramakrishna, a saint in Hinduism, thought that all faiths were true.
