Reports indicate that a 27 year old Mobile Money vendor has been shot dead by some armed robbers at Krofrom in the Ashanti Region.
The incident, which is said to have happened on Thursday February 13, 2025 around 3:00 pm revealed that the robbers also made away with an amount of GHC10,000 and some mobile devices.
According to a witness, the vendor, a woman, was shot on the spot after withdrawing money from a bank. Some residents within the vicinity had tried to chase the robbers but were deterred by the guns they wielded, the witness added.
“We tried to chase the perpetrators but their gun scared us, they left and went in the direction of airport road,” said the witness, Evans.
The vendor was confirmed dead at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the police is said to have commenced investigations following their visit to the scene.
For the past two years, attacks on mobile money vendors have increased, with many such business individuals losing their lives in the process. The rampant incidence of such attacks has caused panic, thereby compelling vendors to close earlier than they would wish.
