President Mahama has appointed Justina Nelson as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Income and Investment Fund (MIIF).
Justina was appointed just few hours after the former CEO was relieved off post.
Her appointment was contained in a letter dated Tuesday January 14, 2024 and signed by the President’s Spokesperson, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
Hitherto her appointment, Justina was a Banking professional with over twenty years of experience. She was the Group Head of Zenith Bank (Ghana) Limited.
Besides this, Justina Nelson holds credentials in the legal and business fraternities, with a Masters degree in Corporate and Commercial law and Masters degree in Business Administration, all from the University of Ghana, Legon.
As required by the Minerals Income Investment Fund Act, 978 (as amended), the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) is a sovereign minerals fund that aims to monetize Ghana’s mineral wealth in a way that will benefit the country in the long run and maximize the value of dividend and royalties income coming in to the Republic of Ghana in a sustainable, accountable, and beneficial manner.
Agyapa Royalties Company, Africa’s sole state-owned gold royalties company, is also entirely owned by MIIF.
