On Friday, December 8th, the Ghana Education Service (GES) interdicted Mr. Kwadwo Obeng Appiah, the headmaster of Manso-Edubia Senior High School in the Ashanti Region’s Amansie South.
In a written statement, the educational management body instructed him to step aside due to the unauthorized collection of unapproved fees from new applicants (students) admitted to the school.
Allegations include the imposition of unauthorized fees such as a GHC300 admission fee, GHC200 for a protocol fee, GHC400 for PTA dues, and GHC300 for the sale of school uniforms. Mr.
Appiah has been directed to hand over school properties in his possession to the Regional Director of Education, who will oversee the administration of the school during his absence.
