The much anticipated judgement has come amid political tensions between the two major political parties in a power tussle in parliament ahead of the country’s general election.
Ahead of the final judgement, the presiding judge, Justice Gertrude Tokornoo granted the New Patriotic Party Caucus in parliament an injunction order to stay the speaker’s pronouncement on the four seats.

However, Justice Tokornoo indicated that details of the verdict will be made available tomorrow, Wednesday 13, 2024.
“By court in in a majority decision of five two, Lovelace Johnson JSC and Ahmadu Tanko JSC dissenting on the issue of jurisdiction, the plaintiff’s action succeeds the full reasons and orders of the court shall be filed with the registrar by close of date, tomorrow, 13th, November 2024 the is the judgment of the court” the Chief Justice said.
This judgement now officially makes the NPP caucus ressume their status as majority in parliament, contrary to the speaker’s pronouncement earlier.
