Following a circulation of a video showing the headmistress of Swedru Senior High School Ms. Golda Esi Andam, commending two final year students of the Swedru Senior High School for their honesty in returning a missing purse which contained valuable items, Child Rights Interntional, a non-governmental organisation has commended the school for instilling high standards of character and responsibility in its students.
In a letter dated 16th January, the organisation commended Jeff Ebo Arhin and Vivian Ocran, of the Business and Agric Science class respectively, for their honest action in returning the missing purse without taking any of the valuable items in the said purse. They mentioned that the two students will be awarded an amount of One Thousand Five Hundred Ghana Cedis each, for their remarkable act.
Child Rights International also offered Fifteen Thousand Ghana Cedis Tertiary Scholarship for Jeff Ebo Arhin and Vivian Ocran, to support them in their educational journey beyond senior high school. The school was also commended on instilling in its students, a sense of accountability and honesty.
The cash award and scholarship by Child Rights International seeks to encourage the two students to continue being shining examples of good citizenship, and also to inspire other students to emulate such admirable qualities.
The news about the two final year students have been making waves on various social media platforms in Ghana since it broke out, with many commending them for a trait that according to many, has become less common to see in recent times.
