A police officer from the National Visibility Unit, named Constable Ernest Agyemang Darko, has been caught fraudstering with mobile money.
A police incident report said that on November 29, 2023, Constable Ernest Agyemang Darko went into the Kasoa Branch of MTN Ghana to do some business.
He asked for GHC14,460 to be paid, but after the transactions were complete, he could not give the correct amount.
Officer Ernest Agyemang Darko was taken to the CBG Bank, where he said he could save money, but the bank was closed.
So, the agent called the police in the area to arrest him. When he was caught, Constable Ernest Agyemang Darko admitted in his warning statement that he did not have any cash on him or in his bank account.
He did something brave, though, when he couldn’t take the pressure from people he owed money to for lost bets. He ordered the deals to go through.
