Leader of government’s Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) team, MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa has claimed that the ORAL team has in possession worring evidence of State capture under the immediate past New Patriotic Party (NPP) government led by Mr. Akuffo-Addo.
During his engagement with the media in the Eastern Region, the MP described as shocking the evidence gathered in their effort to recover looted government assets during the immediate past administration.
According to him, the team is working in collaboration with the attorney general and various institutions to make sure the evidence are well coordinated, adding that the general public would eventually appreciate the team’s efforts and the extent of damage done by the Akuffo-Addo led government.
“When we present our report, the Ghanaian people will see the tremendous work that has gone on—the extent of the loot and how all of us have worked successfully to ensure the evidence is coordinated for action by our attorney general and other institutions,” he said.
The concept of ORAL has transitioned from a mere political campaign promise to an instituted effort by the NDC administration in its projected adamance to bring into account the misuse and misappriopriation of government assets.
The team led by the Mr. Ablakwa has consistently indicated their resolve to see the operation through without government funding, a posture to signal government’s resolve to minimize expenditure.
